MAKRIGIALOS CARNIVAL 2005

A truly great festival and a big thanks to the organisers.

The weather today is glorious with fabulous sunshine and summer weather.

The carnival started off with the King of the parade and then had a wonderful teepee and Indians dancing. Great performances by the Indians with authentic sounds and rain dances!

Moving on, the local football team applauded the world cup and were sent off by the ref! Red cards all round.

Makriyialos primary school cooked up a great scheme. All the students were chefs and liberally dolled out flour and sweets to the unsuspecting audience.

Pirates and Smurfs had fabulous outfits and costumes, whilst a lady wondered around in the middle looking to get married...

Doping was the name of the game for a syringe full of whisky. With a lovely XAPI ( meaning pill, but pronounced Happy in Greek) end!!!!

Finally we had the gods on top of Olympus, very much in love, with Asterix close in front, happily stealing the show.

A great carnival, a lot of work went into it and we applaud all those who took part.
