A small little village right on the south eastern coast.

About a twenty minute drive to Ziros and major supermarkets and towns, this little haven is on the beach and has about five tavernas a minimarket and very little else.

According to records, Xerokampos was mentioned in the 1583 Venetian census and due to the area's wild beauty and positioning, this area has been inhabited since the minoan period.

Originally named Katsounaki, there used to be a peak sanctuary at Trahilas and others at Antisternia and Farmakokefalo. The local archeaologist, N. Papadakis, believed that Farmakelo was in fact the area called Ambelos before.

Know locally for its wonderful olive oil, sea salt and the famous Eleanora Falcon.
