| ABOUT THE FARM Our farm is situated in a beautiful area a 20 minutes drive above Ierapetra with stunning views of sea, lake, islands and mountains. On land filled with olive trees we have built a home for unwanted donkeys where they can live happily in the company of other donkeys. Mostly they have been given to us by their elderly owners who feel that they cannot look after them any more.
Donkeys are a hard worked and often mistreated animal and here in Crete they have provided an invaluable service to their owners for many years. They can live to over forty years of age and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect in their later years.
Whilst not in complete retirement our donkeys have been given a new and more restful life .They enjoy human company and are happy to carry bags and picnics on our walks where they add entertainment and provide a leisurely pace for us to walk at. They love children and enjoy being ridden.
Come and meet our long eared friends. But be warned donkeys are addictive!
